THE JOURNEY

My name is Robert Bear Claw.

My journey actually began when I was a child. Stories that my grandfather and his friends told me about spirits and warriors and Ancient Ones filled me with the wonder that I think we all have as children. Our minds and our eyes search for evidence of those things grown-ups tell us do not exist.

In my case, the grown-ups did believe in things and a world beyond that which is supposedly real. With each story, I wanted to know more. I wanted to see more. So, I never questioned the stories, never doubted them.

Until I got to college.

And, just as most young people in college probably do, I began to question my grandfather’s stories, wondering if in fact, they were just that, stories.

What you will find on this website is a continuation of a quest that I began so long ago. I believe that there is a very real ‘hidden history’ of Humankind, one that has been kept deliberately suppressed. However, I also believe that there is a ‘hidden science’ of Humankind, one that the best minds on our world have not yet discovered.

As strange as this may sound, at every site where I performed an Honoring, I was given another clue, another insight into this ‘Other World’. Each journey and each Honoring further strengthened my direction and my resolve.

It is no coincidence that the earliest divinity that was linked to the Bear was the Goddess Artemis, that the steadiest star in the heavens is found in the constellation of Ursa Major, the Great Bear, and that in the ancient Middle East, the word for the spirit of the dove and the spirit of the Bear was one and the same.

The ultimate destination that I have arrived at, one which I had not expected, will be disturbing to many. It is, however, the fulfillment of the adage: ‘Return to the Old Ways’. For they are, in fact, the oldest Ways of Humankind.

She is Mother Earth, She is Mother Nature, and She is the Great Feminine Divine. If all goes well, if we do this right, we can bring back Her Ways.
